Made with bravery. With support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukrainian businesses launched an official marketplace to promote Ukrainian goods abroad
EVO, a Ukrainian IT product company, launched Made with Bravery, an official e-marketplace for products made in Ukraine, with the support of global payments leader Visa, communication agency Banda, and informational assistance from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Its goal is to unite Ukrainian entrepreneurs into a community, promote Ukrainian products abroad and facilitate the export of Ukrainian goods, helping develop the Ukrainian business sector and rebuild Ukraine. The goods will be delivered by the national postal operator Ukrposhta.
Kyiv, 13 September 2022 — Businesses are again joining efforts to support Ukrainian products in the international arena: EVO, Visa, and Banda have presented a marketplace for goods made in Ukraine by Ukrainian producers. The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office and the national project Diia.Business informationally support the initiative. Ukrposhta, the national postal operator, is the logistics partner of the project, ensuring deliveries abroad.
‘’The Made with Bravery marketplace is a great opportunity to show cool goods and products of Ukrainian companies to the general public. Ukraine has brave entrepreneurs and first-class brands that the whole world should know about. This platform will allow the business to scale and find new customers. This is profit, jobs, an opportunity to contribute and keep the economy of Ukraine at a stable level. In addition, this is another opportunity for people from other countries to learn about Ukraine and support us," comments Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
"In wartime, the support of Ukrainian companies, especially SMEs, is extremely important. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs systematically promotes Ukrainian products abroad. The new online marketplace for Ukrainian goods with a worldwide delivery option will help Ukrainian businesses export and earn money abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will fully contribute to its promotion. I call on Ukrainian manufacturers to actively discover new opportunities with this resource," says Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The marketplace features items of different categories for different ages and genders: clothes, footwear, accessories, household goods, as well as food and beverages that have a long shelf life and can be delivered.
Ukrainian manufacturers that meet specific criteria can sell their goods at the marketplace. These criteria are verified during registration. In particular, a merchant at the marketplace must be a business entity that has proven to be a producer/merchant of high-quality goods in the Ukrainian market. First of all, it is about brands that are presented in social networks, provide good photos and a description of the product. Authors of unique authentic products are also a priority. Learn more about the terms of producers’ registration, placement of goods and other aspects of joining the Made with Bravery producer community here. In addition, if the merchant replenishes the marketplace account with a Visa business card, he additionally receives compensation in the amount of 10% (learn more about the special offer and its duration here).
“Ukrainian producers, specifically clothes, footwear, and accessories designers, have long been recognized worldwide. Celebrities wear their products. However, these products' creativity, originality, and excellent quality are yet unknown to the general public. We want the entire world to fall in love with Ukrainian products and establish a belief that Ukrainian means cool. That's why we created the Made with Bravery marketplace. And that is why we have high selection criteria for the marketplace merchants. Our goal is to pleasantly surprise foreign buyers with Ukrainian products and quality of the service and to make "made in Ukraine" an integral part of their everyday lives,” explains Mykola Paliyenko, CEO and Co-Founder of EVO.
The marketplace transfers 5% of the price of each purchased item to United24, the fundraising platform initiated by the President of Ukraine. A special platform commission directs these funds to the relevant programs for rebuilding Ukraine. Furthermore, an additional 5% is transferred to United24 to support and rebuild the country if the payment is made with a Visa card.
“Supporting small and medium enterprises is one of the global aspirations of Visa. Ukrainian entrepreneurs heroically continue to work in tough conditions, holding the country's economy on their shoulders. It is our duty, as big businesses, to create conditions for expanding their markets. Thanks to the initiative of all partners, this project not only opens international opportunities for Ukrainian producers but also supports the rebuilding of Ukraine,” notes Vira Platonova, Visa Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for 17 countries.
According to data from the Kyiv School of Economics, the total amount of direct damage to infrastructure reaches $114.5 billion. Therefore, supporting the reconstruction of the country is urgent, because it requires significant funds. Every purchase at Made with Bravery is a brick in the "new walls" of Ukraine. It is the underlying idea behind the first communication campaign of Made with Bravery. It is illustrated by this promotional video.
“With our first communication campaign, we want to convey the very idea of the marketplace to foreigners: by buying Ukrainian goods you are helping rebuild Ukraine. Every purchase has a new sense, becoming a metaphorical brick in the new walls. We used the characters in the video to emphasize the bravery of our producers, who continue to create and manufacture despite the destruction caused by the Russian missiles. The video itself was made by hand in the stop motion style to convey the spirit of the Ukrainian craft better,” explains Oleksiy Dyvysenko, Creative Director of the project at Banda.
Made with Bravery delivers to many countries. You can access the complete list here. You can access the marketplace website at https://shop.brave.ua and learn more about buying and paying for your order here.
Ukrposhta, the national postal operator, delivers the purchased goods. The delivery terms to a specific country are determined by the rules of operation of the postal operator. For more details, visit the Ukrposhta website.
Everyone can become an ambassador of the project and support Ukrainian producers by spreading information about the marketplace among foreigners.
