TVORCHI, Visa and UNITED24 Raised Almost UAH 12 Million in a Month to Save Premature Babies in Ukraine

During the “Caring People Save Children's Hearts” campaign, thousands of benefactors from Ukraine and other countries made donations for medical equipment for premature babies. The final amount raised is UAH 11,924,114. These funds will be used to purchase intensive care incubators. Visa matched the contributions from Visa cards issued by Ukrainian banks.

KYIV, June 21, 2023 — The “Caring People Save Children's Hearts” fundraiser, organized in partnership between the TVORCHI band, the payment technology company Visa and the fundraising platform UNITED24, has come to an end.

The TVORCHI band made the charity fundraiser announcement at the end of April, before leaving for Liverpool, shortly before the start of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

While the declared goal was to raise a minimum of UAH 10 million, the final sum of the fundraiser amounted to UAH 11,924,114. The collected funds will be transferred to the official account of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the purchase of intensive care incubators. They are necessary for premature babies, the number of which has increased in Ukraine due to mothers' stress caused by the war.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined our fundraising campaign, both in Ukraine and abroad. A special thanks to all the partners who responded to our call and gave us support. The results exceeded our expectations. We are glad that the important medical equipment to be purchased will help our doctors save the lives of newborn Ukrainians in these difficult times. We want every child's heart to beat,” commented the TVORCHI duo.

Thank you to our partners, the TVORCHI duo and the UNITED24 platform, for fruitful cooperation. We have seen how benefactors from Ukraine and all over the world joined the fundraising, proving that they really do care. And thanks to the matching of all contributions made from Visa cards issued by Ukrainian banks, we managed to direct even more funds to save newborns. We once again witnessed how effective and convenient a charity fundraiser can be through using digital payments,” says Svitlana Chyrva, Visa Vice President, Country Manager for Ukraine and Moldova.

Drawing attention to the fundraiser, TVORCHI appeared on the Turquoise Carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest in costumes embroidered with the names and weights of premature Ukrainian babies. In addition, the band raffled off a personal musical greeting and a flag with the signatures of Eurovision contestants among the donors.

Throughout the year, the UNITED24 team has been trying to come up with ideas for fundraisers to involve as many people as possible from around the world. In this campaign in partnership with TVORCHI, our idea was for the band to wear costumes with the names of prematurely born children. Jeffery and Andrii aroused great interest by arriving on the Turquoise Carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest. We give thanks to everyone who assisted us in telling the story of this important fundraising campaign,” commented Yaroslava Gres, Coordinator of the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

Many outdoor visual materials, including the physical installation “Caring Hearts” at Kyiv's Central Railway Station, called for donations to save premature babies. On May 7–13, the TVORCHI duo presented it to the million-people audience of Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool (Great Britain), where they represented Ukraine with the song “Heart of Steel”.

At the final stage of the project, on June 1, a raffle among benefactors was held on Visa’s Facebook page: among the campaign participants who donated 1,000 hryvnias or more, a hundred unique heart-shaped pieces of silver jewelry from designer FROLOV and jewelry brand SOVA were raffled off, and among the ten most generous donors in Ukraine, ten gold jewelry pieces from the unique collection were raffled off. The organizer of the promotion is already in contact with the participants who won the raffle.

monobank was the acquiring bank.

The fundraising campaign lasted from April 28 to May 28. The funds collected during the “Kurazh” charity festival on June 10 and 11 were added to the amount accumulated during this month. Follow this link to figure out official rules of the “Caring People Save Children's Hearts” fundraiser.
