Visa Partners with RozetkaPay to Launch Biometric Authentication for Online Payments via Visa Payment Passkey

The solution enables device-based authentication for online purchases using a consumer’s device biometrics, helping reduce the friction associated with passwords and SMS one-time passcodes.

KYIV, April 2, 2026 — Visa, a global leader in digital payments, together with the payment service RozetkaPay, announced the launch of Visa Payment Passkey, a solution designed to make online payment authentication faster, easier and more secure.

With Visa Payment Passkey, RozetkaPay is able to offer consumers a more seamless way to authenticate online purchases using fingerprint scanning or facial recognition. Built on the Fast Identity Online standards (FIDOТМ), Visa Payment Passkey helps provide stronger, device-based authentication that is more resistant to phishing attacks, data interception, and theft. After a one-time setup, consumers can use Visa Payment Passkey to authenticate purchases at all participating merchants where the solution is enabled.

Visa Payment Passkey has been available in Ukraine since April 2025, when Visa launched it in partnership with GERC, a platform for online payments for utility bills, as part of Click to Pay.
